About

About Me...

Ever since I was a young girl and my father put my first camera in my hand at age 8 I have always looked at the world a bit differently than most. Whether in my personal life or now as a professional photographer, I feel compelled to capture each moment as it gracefully unfolds before me...

Although life's path has taken me down many different roads, the one constant has been my love for photographing people and things around me.  My artistic approach combines several elements; including a mix of traditional and photojournalistic styles, a relaxed shooting approach and a strong passion for capturing "real life" moments.  Having the capability to make my subjects feel comfortable is something that comes naturally with my background.  Formerly a Marketing and Advertising Executive in Los Angeles and a mother of two beautiful and spirited girls, has given me the ability to exercise patience and flexibility while keeping a sense of professionalism and focus.  I think the key to my success in life is being able to maintain a good sense of humor and go with the flow.  After the birth of my second child, I decided to make my passion my profession and started working as a photographer full time.  Fast forward 17 years, I can honestly say that I am truly blessed to be doing what I do.  Whether I am working with a precious little newborn, capturing those priceless expressions you know and love, to working with executives portraying them in a relatable, relevant way; I am able to utilize my experience and talents at creating the perfect environment and ultimately yielding great results.  I absolutely love photographing people from all walks of life and interacting with all types of personalities.

The Experience...

If this is your first time working with me, you will soon discover that your portrait session will be just as unique as your family.  I strive for all my photo shoots to be fun and for my clients to feel relaxed and at ease.  I always arrive at my sessions fully prepared to try and achieve my clients' goals, as well as full of many creative ideas.  My easy going, yet energetic personality, allows you to feel comfortable, as well as, inspired.  This enables me to capture a person's true spirit and personality.  As a mother of two, I am very familiar with working with children, so I really cater to your family's needs. When working with young children I aim to go at their pace but when possible, try and capture all of the more formal group shots first, then just allow the child/children to play and be themselves while capturing a more natural candid moment. I bring patience, humor and lots of experience to our session so you can relax and know that your session will yield amazing photographs that will be cherished for a lifetime.  Many of my clients say that they have special memories of the session itself.

About Your Session...

I am both a natural lighting as well as studio photographer.

My studio is perfect for maternity, newborn, small children as well as corporate and modeling headshots.  I offer a wide variety of backdrops and looks, creating your perfect style.

Living in the heart of Sonoma County with all the splender that the wine country has to offer there is a wide variety of beautiful locations outdoors to choose from.  If you don't have a specific location or spot in mind, I am happy to help you select one.

Most outdoor sessions run about 1-1/2 to 2 hours in length.  Typically the best time of the day to shoot is the last two hours before sunset.  This varies depending on the time of year.

What To Wear...

You should always wear what feels comfortable and best reflects your own style and personality.  Generally it is a good rule of thumb to try and keep it simple by wearing solids.  I love layers, textures as well as any accessories that might add a bit of fun or flair to your look.  I have never been a big one for everyone matching, but it is important to keep in mind that everyone should try and coordinate their attire by wearing something in the same family of colors or tones.  I always encourage my clients to bring a few different outfits offering a wide variety of dynamic and diverse looks. This is also nice, because later when going through your contacts, it doesn't look as though everything was shot on the same day.  Feel free to bring along any special or sentimental items to your session.
