Julie did a terrific photo shoot for our startup pet company. We had to photograph cats in a variety of environments, which is never an easy assignment. Working with Julie was easy and fun. She is creative, patient, and has an innovative way of thinking about photography. We did shots in our yard, in our home, and at the studio to get a variety of themes and moods. The photos turned out beautiful. I would definitely work with Julie again!

As a new hire, I was sent to Julie for my official company photograph. I am the FIRST to admit that I am extremely uncomfortable in front of a camera, I am not the girl who does that whole “pose” thing. However, I had no say in the matter, the company wanted a head and shoulders shot, so off I went.

Julie was very professional with the undertone of a fun artist, coaxing me out of my stiff poses and far too teethy smiles with gentle suggestions, patience, and eventually much laughter.

She got the pictures she needed for the company, but also delighted me with a few that didn’t make the “professional-at-work” cut, needless to say, I purchased those for myself!

We recently worked with Julie for my daughters’ senior photos. Julie was absolutely professional and meticulous in scheduling the photo shoot, provided us with excellent recommendations on sites for the shoot and she took a ton of beautiful photos, most of which required no photo shopping or touch up. My daughter was initially reluctant to have her photos taken, but Julie quickly established a comfortable rapport with her, and soon my daughter was relaxed and enjoying the shoot. We are so please with the resulting photos and the whole experience and would highly recommend Julie!

We have worked with Julie for several years now. She ahs been exceptional in all of our family shoots even when conditions or children (event pets) don’t necessarily cooperate. She always finds the right locations, the right pose and the right moment to snap a picture. She has created some wonderful memories for all of us over the years. I needed a professional headshot for a conference and have to admit I was not looking forward to it. I have never been much of a fan of the camera but now that has changed! I always feel like I am the person who gets caught with a goofy look on my face or blinking lol. Julie worked with our dental office to capture photos for our new website. She photographed both outdoors to capture bio/staff photos and candid shots in the office. We could not be more pleased with how our photos turned out. Julie was also a pleasure to work with. She is extremely flexible and responsive even allowing a complementary extra day of outdoor shooting due to weather constraints on our first day. I have been using Julie for our family portraits since my kids were little and now in their adult years. She recently took pictures for my business and I could not be more pleased. Getting 10 women together in one shot is not an easy task. She also did individual shots and was able to calm our nerves and make us feel relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. She pays close attention to detail making sure your hair is in place and your clothes are perfectly positioned all while climbing on a ladder or laying on the ground to get the perfect angle. Julie was able to conceptualize our marketing goals through her photography and I am beyond thankful to her! She is a perfectionist and it shows in her work.

My experience was phenomenal! I came for a corporate headshot not 100% sure how to even pose for them and she had everything covered from the angles, lighting and poses. Was pretty shy walking in, but that goes away the second she snaps the first picture for she is incredibly personable. I definitely plan on coming back to her for any photography needs.

I needed a photographer quickly to make some corporate headshot photos for a new job I’m starting in a couple of weeks. While there are many photographers in Sonoma County, I didn’t see many who emphasized headshots in their work. Julie was my choice because I saw many great examples of what I was looking for on her website. Julie and her assistance were very flexible about finding a time for my photoshoot that worked with my schedule. She does require full payment up front, but I was confident I would get high quality photos based on my review of her website, so this wasn’t a problem for me.

The photoshoot was great! Julie is fun to work with and kept me relaxed through the shoot. She’s friendly and works quickly and gave me lots of encouragement as we went through different poses. The photos turned out great as well – U had a very large number of shots to review and select from the same night as the photoshoot, which really exceeded my expectations. After I chose my final pictures, she turned the touchups around very quickly and I had my photos ready to go five days sooner than I expected!

Julie Hughes is an amazing photographer. I had to have work photos taken. For me, getting my picture taken is up there with getting teeth pulled. My husband had professional photographs done by Julie a few weeks before and they turned out great, so I gave her a call.
